About the conference

Procurement is increasingly becoming a global discipline as firms rely upon international competition and suppliers in emerging economies to reduce input costs.

But buying globally carries significant risks.  Recent years have seen destabilising international events including natural disasters in Japan and the US, political upheavals in North Africa and a global economic crisis.  Each of these has disrupted the supply of goods and services.

At the 2014 CIPS Middle East Conference, held on 12 May at the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel in Dubai, procurement executives and experts in the Middle East explored how they were tackling these challenges, and, taking advantage of the opportunities, and what the future looked like for the profession.

Delegates heard from local and global speakers, participated in practical workshops, networked with peers and also celebrated excellence with our third annual CIPS Middle East Awards 2014.

After the conference we held an awards ceremony and networking dinner at the same venue, the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, in Dubai.
